Education / 1993

A poured in site concrete two storey classroom building was designed in 1993 and finished in 1995, for a private assistance institution school in the Tacubaya Neighborhood, Mexico City along a catalogued historic 19 century building used as a school. The new building was conceived structurally to match aesthetically with the historical context of the zone; un-painted steel screens were set in the windows and doors in order to protect it from the ball thumbs coming from an adjacent football field. The building staircase is covered by a skylight supported by natural steel I beams and the open corridor is guarded by rounded steel columns. Outside the building is surrounded by tall centennial ash trees.
